Teaching Practice Reflection Week 1 ( Sem 4 )

Teaching Practice Reflection Week 1 ( Sem 4 )

 Week 1: (11/11/2024 – 15/11/2024)

“Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.” – William Butler Yeats

This week marked the beginning of my teaching practice at GGHSS Nedumangad. I was excited and a little nervous as I started my lessons on Economic Thought for Class 8G. My main goal was to help students understand the evolution of economic ideas and how different thinkers contributed to economic theories. I used various teaching aids such as charts, PowerPoint presentations, and real-life examples to make the topic more engaging.

Throughout the week, I focused on creating an interactive classroom environment by encouraging discussions and questioning. Some students showed keen interest in learning about Adam Smith and Karl Marx, which made the lessons more enjoyable. I also assigned short activities where students had to relate economic ideas to their daily lives.

Apart from my subject lessons, I actively participated in school activities. I helped with midday meal service, ensuring that students received their meals in an organized manner. I also attended a club meeting where we discussed upcoming events and student participation. This week gave me valuable insights into handling a classroom and balancing multiple responsibilities as a teacher.
