Teaching Practice Reflection Week 5 ( Sem 4 )
Week 5 & 6: (9/12/2024 – 13/12/2024)
“The task of the modern educator is not to cut down jungles, but to irrigate deserts.” – C.S. Lewis
These two weeks were mainly dedicated to exam duties. My responsibilities included invigilation, assisting in exam preparations, and ensuring smooth conduct of examinations. Though I missed teaching during this period, I gained valuable experience in handling administrative tasks related to examinations.
Apart from exam duties, I also helped in organizing seating arrangements and managing students during break times. I assisted teachers in question paper distribution and answer sheet collection. It was a different kind of experience, but it helped me understand the importance of discipline and systematic management in schools.
Though my teaching hours were minimal, I stayed connected with my students, encouraging them to prepare well for their exams. I also provided revision notes for topics we had covered earlier. Overall, these two weeks gave me an insight into the non-teaching responsibilities of a teacher.
