Teaching Practice Reflection Week 6 ( Sem 4 )

                             Teaching Practice Reflection Week 6 ( Sem 4 )

Week 6: (13/12/2024 – 20/12/2024)

“What the teacher is, is more important than what he teaches.” – Karl A. Menninger

This week, I continued with my exam duties at GGHSS Nedumangad. My primary responsibility was invigilation, ensuring that the students followed examination rules and maintained discipline during the tests. Through this experience, I gained insights into how schools manage large-scale examinations efficiently. I also assisted teachers in distributing and collecting question papers and answer sheets, ensuring a smooth process.

A crucial part of this week was helping students manage their exam stress. Many students appeared anxious, and I took the opportunity to offer words of encouragement. I advised them on time management, revision techniques, and how to stay calm before their exams. Seeing their confidence grow through small interactions was one of the most fulfilling moments of the week.

Additionally, I helped in exam-related administrative work, such as organizing seating arrangements and verifying attendance. This made me appreciate the efforts of school staff who work tirelessly behind the scenes to conduct exams seamlessly.

Although I missed classroom teaching, this week reinforced my understanding of the broader responsibilities of a teacher beyond delivering lessons. Managing students during exams, handling unforeseen situations, and ensuring fairness in assessment are all essential aspects of a teacher’s role. As I completed my exam duties, I looked forward to resuming my teaching journey in the coming weeks.
