Teaching Practice Reflection Week 8 ( Sem 4 )
Week 8: (13/01/2025 – 17/01/2025)
“Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself.” – John Dewey
As I wrapped up the chapter on Water, I conducted a short assessment to gauge students’ understanding. Their performance showed significant improvement, which reassured me of my teaching methods.
To conclude the topic, I organized a poster-making competition on “Save Water, Save Life,” where students expressed their ideas creatively. Their artwork reflected their awareness of water conservation.
Additionally, I helped in the final preparations for upcoming exams, arranging materials and coordinating schedules with other teachers. This week also gave me time to reflect on my teaching journey so far. It has been an enriching experience, blending subject teaching with school activities. I feel more confident in my role as an educator and look forward to my remaining days in this teaching practice.
This reflective journal captures my experiences, challenges, and learnings throughout my teaching practice at GGHSS Nedumangad. Each week brought new experiences, and I am grateful for the opportunity to grow both as a teacher and as an individual.
The week also gave me a new perspective on the challenges students face. Some were dealing with personal difficulties that affected their performance, while others showed remarkable perseverance despite their struggles. I found myself reflecting on my own role as a teacher—not just as someone who delivers lessons but as a mentor, a guide, and sometimes, a silent pillar of support.
Even though I wasn’t actively teaching this week, the experience was profound. It reminded me that education is not just about marks and exams but about nurturing young minds to believe in themselves. As I completed my exam duties, I felt a deep emotional connection with my students and a stronger sense of purpose in my journey as an educator.
