Teaching Activities
Over these two days, I focused on teaching the topic "Distribution of Power in Indian Constitution" to classes IX D and IX E. This topic is crucial for students to understand how power is allocated among different levels of government in India, ensuring a balanced and functional democratic system. I prepared detailed lesson plans outlining the key concepts of the distribution of power, including the roles of the central and state governments, and the significance of federalism in India.
I also utilised interactive teaching methods to engage students actively. This included group discussions, Q&A sessions, and real-life examples to illustrate the theoretical concepts. This encouraged students to share their thoughts and perspectives, fostering a participatory learning environment. Organised activities such as role-plays where students acted as different branches of government to understand their functions and interactions.
Substitution Periods
During the substitution periods in classes VIII G and IX H, my primary responsibility was to supervise and maintain classroom discipline. Additionally, I took the opportunity to engage students with supplementary educational activities to keep them productively occupied. Led discussions on relevant Social Science topics, encouraging students to explore and discuss concepts beyond their standard curriculum. This approach aimed to broaden their knowledge base and stimulate intellectual curiosity.
Mid-day Meals
As part of the school's welfare activities, I assisted in the distribution of mid-day meals. This involved coordinating with staff to ensure meals were distributed efficiently and every student received their share. This activity allowed me to interact with students informally, understanding their needs and concerns better.
Line Duty
During evening times, I was responsible for arranging students and maintaining order as they prepared to leave for home. This duty required effective crowd management and communication skills to ensure a smooth and disciplined process.
